awards from a sweetie :)
I got these two lovely awards from a sweet blogging friend, Haylie from A Wildflower Growing in the Sun.
Your stranded. On an Island. You have nothing. What do you do?As Haylie said, figure out WHY IN THE WORLD I AM THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE! Then try to find some yummy, exotic fruits, build a fire, then lay out in the sun and figure out a way to get rescued.
What is your favorite feature: Eyes, feet, nose, etc? Eyes and the person laugh.
Are your ears pierced? No :(
What are you scared of? Spiders
Your man. short or tall? Not super tall, but definitely taller than me.
Would you rather be 13 or 30? 30 I think.
Chocolate or roses? Chocolate! For sure!
this one too!
I give both these awards to.....Sierra!

Last weekend I grabbed my best girlfriends, sunglasses, lots of blankets, and a tent. I spent five days camping in a tent, taking pictures, and laying on the beach.
The weather was gorgeous, no rain at all, praise God!

Fashioned by Faith ~ Book Review
Fashioned by Faith - Rachel Lee Carter
This book, written buy a real life model, gives an inside look at the ups and downs of living as a professional model.
Each chapter begins with a letter from a real guy. In each letter the guys confess how hard it is as christian young men trying to stay pure in a world filled with the "skin-is-in" mind frame. The guys inform the readers of how thankful they are when girls dress modestly. They admit that modesty is actually more attractive to them, because it shows that the girl has confidence and respect for herself.
Rachel also provides the reader with practical ways to incorporate modesty into your wardrobe while still dressing stylishly. We all know that finding cute modest clothes can difficult but Rachel shows us the fun, easy was to do it!
One of my favorite aspects of the book is how the author presents the Gospel story. She explains it in an interesting, easy to understand way for teen girls.
There is also a 45-day bible study at the end of the book. The Bible study provides a way to dig deeper and find out more about what God says about modesty, and why it is so important to Him.

Book Review: The Mountains Bow Down by Sibella Giorello
The Mountains Bow Down by Sibella Giorello
This is the third book in a series by Sibella Giorello. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, even though I have not read the first two.
Raleigh Harmon sets out on a cruise with her mother, aunt and one of her aunt's "psychic" friends. She hopes to get in some much needing rest and recuperation from her tiring job as a FBI special agent, and spend some quality time with family. But a strange case arises while Raleigh is on the ship and Raleigh is drawn in, not completely against her will. With so many twists to the story and new clues being discovered, Raleigh sets aside her plans for chilling by the pool and gets caught up in the exciting world of crime solving.
To add some conflict, Raleigh's enemy, Jack Stephanson, a fellow special agent she worked with, is assigned to board the cruise ship to help her. Even though she has a fiance waiting for her when she gets back, Raleigh finds herself wondering why Jack seems to know her better than herself when her fiance can't seem to understand her.
Raleigh is also a geologist and the geology explained in the book will be fascinating to rock lovers and easy to understand for those just reading the book for fun.
I loved the mixture of suspense, romance, and emotion the author blended in the book. A good story always needs conflict. The author made sure of that by bringing in an enemy, also by some head-butting all throughout the story.
I would recommend this story to the older crowd, but references to drugs, alcohol, pornography, and other things may make it inappropriate for the younger generation.

Book Review: Voices of the Faithful
Voices of the Faithful
A Yearly Devotional with Beth Moore and Friends
I liked this devotional book in that it was different than a lot of others I have read. The year was broken down in months and in each month you studied a different subject through the testimonies of missionaries serving all over the world. Some of the subjects included God's Character, God's Grace, Persecution, Prayer, and God's Word. Another variation is that every devotional would start with some Scripture pertaining to the lesson, and ending with a sample prayer. Those aspects really helped draw me in and helped me get the most possible out of the devotional. The book has 366 true accounts of believers from all around the world, a man in Bolivia, a woman in China, a couple in Asia.
Each month starts of with an introduction by Beth Moore that helps prepare your heart for what you are about to learn.
This is a perfect book, if your looking for a new devotional for the new 2011, a gift for a coworker, parent, sibling, or friends.
I received this book from Book Sneeze for free in exchange for a review on my blog and a consumer website.
